A Brief History
Education is an essential dimension of service to humanity. The great uplift that Kerala witnessed in the field of education in 19th century is to be attributed to the vision and wisdom of Kuriakose Elaias Chavara, the founder of the congregation of mother of Carmel, Kerala (C.M.C). C.M.C.sisters came to Thiruvambady in 1956. Thiruvambady is a rural area almost 35 km away from Kozhikode city. Infant Jesus English Medium School, Thiruvambady is established by the sisters of the St.Mary’s province of the congregation of mother of Carmel. At present it is run and managed by the mother provincial of the Carmelite Provincial House Thiruvambady, Kozhikode, 673603. The school started in 1994, is situated in ward No.3 of Thiruvambady gramapanchayath. It owns five acres of land.
